The Patriot Memory SSD lineup has been expanded with the Viper PV553 line, which includes M.2 2280 SSDs with capacities of 1, 2 and 4 TB. The devices use the PCI Express 5.0 x4 interface and boast an active cooling system.
Patriot Memory Viper PV553 NVMe drives use 232-layer 3D NAND TLC memory chips manufactured by Micron Technology. The controller model is not disclosed, but foreign colleagues are confident that the already familiar Phison PS5026-E26 is used. For new products, read and write speeds of up to 12.4 and 11.8 GB/s are stated, respectively, as well as performance of up to 1.4 million IOPS.
The drive’s cooling system consists of an aluminum radiator and a small centrifugal fan. The height of the cooler is 16.5 mm. Other features of the SSD include a five-year manufacturer’s warranty.
Recommended prices for Patriot Memory Viper PV553 NVMe drives will be announced later.
