With a post on its official social channels, the Atlus team announced that Persona 3 Reload managed to sell one million copies in just one week. This is the best launch ever for the Japanese company which in the past with Persona 5 Royal had found some success on its debut on PC.
Persona 3 Reload (our review here), however, exceeded all of Atlus’ expectations. The remake of the third chapter of the legendary JRPG saga is among the best-selling games on both PlayStation Store and Steam and boasts a Metascore of 88/100. Great news for the Japanese studio which seems to have six DLCs in the pipeline for this remake.
During a recent interview, producer Kazuhisa Wada revealed that he had never feared a flop for Persona 3 Reload: “Great things do not become obsolete as the years pass, and excellence does not fadeAnd. For this reason we decided to maintain the story and structure of Persona 3 also in the new Reload version, just improving the graphics and other aspects to allow it to reach the level of Persona 5 Royal. The latter brought many new players closer to the series and convinced us to create a definitive version of Persona 3 to allow new and old fans to enjoy it in the best possible way.”
Available worldwide from February 2 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series for a game from the Atlus series on Steam with a maximum peak of players playing Tartarus at the same time which amounts to over 42,000. Recently, SEGA announced that Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth has also reached one million copies sold.
