Take-Two is officially talking about a “GTA 6” release in 2025. The latest forecasts indicate that the launch is planned for later rather than sooner. And the Florida joker also spoke up again.
“GTA 6” will be released in 2025, Take-Two and Rockstar Games announced in December last year. This means the possibilities extend over twelve months, even if a release in the first and last weeks of the year sounds less plausible.
Even Wedbush Securities analysts Nick McKay and Michael Pachter are currently racking their brains about what release plan Take-Two and Rockstar Games might have for “GTA 6”. Because the publisher’s latest annual report contains a possible clue.
GTA 6 not before April 2025?
Take-Two corrected its forecast for the next financial year (FY25) with its latest annual report. It extends from April of this year to March 2025 and, according to Take-Two’s assessment, will bring in less revenue than previously expected.
In a research note titled “$7 Billion Means No GTA in FY:25” explained the analysts responded: “We can only assume that GTA 6 has slipped out of FY25, in line with our previous expectation.”
Take-Two’s revenue is expected to be just over $7 billion in the coming fiscal year, a far cry from the previously estimated $8 billion.
“The decline makes us almost certain that GTA 6 will not be released in the next financial year. However, we have no reason to believe that the game has slipped out of the 2025 calendar year,” the analysts continued.
Last year, Take-Two indicated with high sales forecasts that the first quarter of 2025 was chosen as a possible release period.

Ubisoft is dealing with Grand Theft Auto 6
When exactly “GTA 6” will be launched is also of great importance for other publishers. It is important to create business plans that take major game releases from the competition into account.
When asked about how Ubisoft thinks about the upcoming game lineup, CEO Yves Guillemot emphasized that the arrival of the Rockstar game should also be seen on the positive side.
“What we’ve seen in the past is that every time there’s a big release like GTA, more and more people come back into the industry. And that helps other games sell too,” that’s the assessment.
According to Guillemot, the French publisher was able to achieve good “revenues and profits” with the games that came onto the market alongside the first release of “GTA 5”.
Still, Ubisoft is taking a close look at the release plans surrounding “GTA 6” and believes the title will be “closer to our fiscal ’26 than our fiscal ’25.”
Guillemot also suggests that “GTA 6” is not scheduled for April 2025 or later, which coincides with Take-Two’s official release window and is in line with recent analyst forecasts.

Florida Joker has a new asking price
The Florida joker also spoke up again about “GTA 6” and made a new offer to Rockstar Games. He no longer wants to sue the developer over the character based on his likeness and reiterated his wish to lend his voice to the character.
He previously wanted several million US dollars in damages from the developer because he – or an almost identical figure – was illegal in the first trailer for the upcoming rock star hit appeared. He later threatened to do so convicted rock star hackers to free him and make common cause with him.
In a new one Tiktok-Video The Florida joker, whose real name is Lawrence Sullivan, was more frugal and gave a significantly reduced asking price.
“Show me $50,000 or $100,000. Let me voice the character, let me go to the meet and greets when the game is released, sign, take photos with the fans. Come on, we’re making headlines all over the world, on every blog. Every news station covered the game. Everyone knows who I am, believe me. So GTA, Rockstar, we need to talk,” said Sullivan, who also complained about being ignored by Rockstar Games.

And he added one more thing: “I’m making the game more relevant. People want to play it. I’m the reason the game is hot right now.”
