Lenovo decided to make its notebook range a little more interesting, and actually different from everything else. As? With the integration of what is the first Transparent OLED screen on the market.
What results from this bet? Well… I don’t know!
Lenovo will have a laptop with a transparent OLED screen!
Therefore, the world of notebooks must be one of the most boring markets on earth, with the design being basically the same in 99% of the devices that end up being launched.
Still, when there is an opportunity to change a little thing, there are at least 2 reference manufacturers! ASUS and Lenovo, hence the former’s ZenBook Duo with two giant OLED screens, and now this new machine from Lenovo, which also tries to change the way of doing things a little.
What is a transparent screen for?
Well, we’re talking about a borderless transparent OLED screen, which can either show an image or appear off and show… well… nothing. As for usefulness, it is something that should depend on the user and the use case.
In other words, a screen of this type will end up offering a more immersive and futuristic user experience. Basically, it offers a little of the experience that Apple’s Vision Pro tries to bring to the table, by allowing what is immediately in front of you to remain visible.
However, I’m honest… I don’t see how this could add anything for the common user. Especially because the price will most likely be prohibitive, and apparently, it will not be possible to use the screen in a “traditional” way.
