Earlier this week, rumors surfaced online about Xbox’s plans to start releasing more games from its in-house studios on Playstation 5 and Switch. This was reported earlier by various journalists and insiders, but this week they started talking about the possible release of one of the main Xbox games of recent years, Starfield, on Playstation 5.
The XboxEra portal was the first to talk about the release of Starfield on Playstation 5 “after the release of the DLC on Xbox and PC” (without reporting the source). And then their information was confirmed by insider NateTheHate, who quite often shares accurate information from the Xbox camp.
On February 10, NateTheHate wrote on his social networks that he had “rechecked” the data. As a result, according to the information currently available to him, Xbox has no plans to release Starfield for Playstation 5:
Over the course of a week I have been re-checking the information mentioned below [сведения о выходе Starfield на Playstation 5], and the information that Starfield is planned for release on Playstation 5 is false. I won’t delete the previous tweet. I admit my mistake.
My previous post in January that Microsoft would be bringing its games to other platforms remains true.
A few hours later, NateTheHate added the following information:
To be clear, I speak only for myself regarding Starfield. New, updated information from me suggests that Starfield is not planned for Playstation 5.
Let us remind you that the Microsoft team promises to make an announcement explaining the updated business strategy next week.
