Netflix and other SVOD bigwigs should be wary of this new French actor who is arriving in France with a “free” offer and an already rich catalog of series, films and anime. An animated feature film was recently added. A word of advice… don’t show it to your children!
The sausage party
No, entertainment is not reserved exclusively for children. Without necessarily mentioning content dedicated to an adult audience (aged over 18), certain series and films made with computer-generated images are not to be seen by everyone. Sausage Party is clearly of this caliber. It’s an animated comedy directed by Conrad Vernon (Monsters vs. Aliens) and Greg Tiernan (God of War – 2005), but above all scripted by none other than Hollywood troublemaker Seth Rogen (40 years old still a virgin, The Fabelmans) and Evan Goldberg (This is the end, Ninja Turtles: Teenage Years).
Sausage Party: The Private Life of Foods of its French title addresses adult themes (sex, drugs, alcohol, etc.) and NEVER skimps on shocking scenes to surprise and make its audience uncomfortable who generally ends up giving up taken and twisted with laughter on his sofa. This unidentified cinematographic object has completely won over the critics. Its 82% score on RottenTomatoes speaks for itself. The public was, however, less receptive (50% on RottenTomatoes). Seth Rogen’s humor isn’t supposed to please everyone.
To ensure that Sausage Party is not viewed by too young an audience, TF1+ only makes the film available during a specific time window each day. To watch this animated feature film you must log in between 10:30 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. (neither before nor after). Here is the synopsis for Sausage Party:
SAUSAGE PARTY tells the story of a sausage who leads a group of supermarket produce on a quest to discover the truth about their existence and what really happens when they are chosen to leave the grocery store. The film features the voice talents of many of today’s comedy stars… Annapurna
