The iOS operating system has undergone almost no major interface changes in recent years. The Verifier website reports that this will soon change – the operating system for the iPhone will receive elements of visionOS.
It is claimed that the Apple TV app on iPadOS 18 will have a translucent navigation bar. This is the same design language that Apple used in the interface of its recently announced Vision Pro combined reality headset.
The site considers the first sign to be the tvOS 17.2 update, where Apple introduced a new sidebar. The panel was made translucent, like visionOS. Similar changes to the menu are expected for iPad on iPadOS 18.
The report mentions that Apple plans to redesign system programs in iOS 18, including Safari. iOS 18 may also change the appearance of some menus and system elements. While the design changes are not confirmed at this stage, the company will unveil the new version at its 2024 WWDC event.
According to the Wccftech website, this source has a controversial history, so the information should be taken critically.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman previously argued that iOS 18 could be Apple’s biggest update in years. The system will feature new artificial intelligence features and “ambitious changes across the board,” according to Apple’s head of software development, Craig Federighi. The new operating system is considered by the company as one of the biggest updates to iOS.
Apple iOS 18 may get an updated version of Siri with an AI language model, AI integration into the Messages app, Apple Music, iWork and Xcode.
