He returns to show himself with a video on TikTok, starting with the now usual “Rockstar, we need to talk”. Lawrence Sullivan, better known as the “Florida Joker” seems to have abandoned the idea of suing Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games to ask for now 2, now 5 and finally 10 million dollars. The accusation, according to Sullivan: having used his appearance to create a character in GTA 6 without asking for his consent. Arthur’s interpreter in RDR2 responded to the accusations: “are you joking? These have strong lawyers.”
The Florida Joker in GTA 6? Sullivan: “I want to dub it”
Sullivan, who until a few days ago claimed not only to dub the character, but also the exorbitant sum of 10 million dollars, has now descended to milder advice. It is enough for him to work in the recording room for a contribution of 100,000 or even 50,000 dollars. In short, less than 1% of the last amount requested.
Meanwhile, no response from Rockstar Games. Sullivan, however, insists that he is the main reason why GTA 6 is relevant right now. “They also talk about it thanks to me” he says in several videos on social media. “Let me dub the character. Let me sign autographs and take pictures with fans at meet and greets. On the other hand, we made the news and all the newspapers talked about you thanks to me” insists Sullivan, truly convinced that he is the main reason why GTA 6 is one of the most discussed games of the moment.
The character’s change of attitude, however, came after about 2 months of silence from the company.
On purpose. Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, recently expressed his opinion on the leak issue of the first trailer, stating that, with a cool head, we don’t feel like considering that leak as a great economic or moral damage. The footage, as of January, was the most viewed video game trailer ever.
