The developers of modern role-playing series decided to discuss the question of why many cult games are returning as remakes. For example, the producer of Star Ocean: The Second Story R believes that it can be quite difficult to access classic games now. This issue is resolved by remakes, which also introduce new audiences to cult projects.
But for the studio Atlus The main motivation for creating Persona 3 Reload was the requests of players. Many of them felt that the original was not up to today’s standards. The developers realized that the “right moment” had come to revive the classic after the release of Persona 5 Royal. Many of its successful elements migrated to the remake of the third part.
Something similar happened with the authors of Final Fantasy VII Remake. Producer Yoshinori Kitase admitted that he had heard questions about a remake back in 2009. For players, the re-release was “something for granted.” After repeated requests, Kitase realized that it was time to start a remake – other authors of the original game also had a hand in it. And many of the current developers of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth were fans of the original from early childhood.
Rebirth game director Naoki Hamaguchi is also confident that in the future, remakes of role-playing games will receive more action elements to attract new audiences. The second chapter of the remake of the original seventh part will be released on February 29 on PlayStation 5. You can already play the demo version and get acquainted with the final previews of enthusiastic critics.
