Star Wars: The Acolyte will arrive this year on Disney Plus to tell us a story set in the High Republic era about a former Padawan and her former Jedi Master.
Star Wars: The Acolyte is one of the most anticipated series in the franchise that will premiere this year on Disney Plus, along with Star Wars: Skeleton Crewthe second season of Andor, the third and final season of Star Wars: La remesa mala and the second season of The Jedi Chronicles.
Until now, we only knew that Star Wars: The Acolyte would land on Disney Plus in 2024, but a more specific premiere sale had not been confirmed. Now, thanks to Collider, our doubts are being cleared up.
The media has shared in the last hours that the series will arrive on the streaming platform this summer. Of course, we still don’t know the exact month and day of its release, but at least we know where to look.
What do we know about Star Wars: The Acolyte?
The Acolyte is one of two live-action series set in the universe of Star Wars that will be released this year in Disney Plusbeing the other Skeleton Crew, one that was originally going to be released in 2023 but was delayed a year and today does not have a confirmed release date either.
The story of The Acolyte will take place during the era of the High Republic, a time before the events we saw in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999).

Leslye Headland serves as showrunner of the series, which stars Power Stenberg, in the role of a former Padawan who will investigate, together with her former Master, some sinister crimes that are happening in the galaxy.
He Jedi Master is embodied by Lee Jung-jae, whom we already saw in The Squid Game. And we also know that Joonas Suotamo will give life to a Eat Wookiee called Kelnacca. They complete the cast of Star Wars:The Acolyte for Disney Plus: Jodie Turner-Smith, Manny Jacinto y Charlie Barnettin roles yet to be determined.
