Motion Twin co-founder complains about end of support for Dead Cells.
This afternoon we reported on Dead Cells and the end of support, which will end with Update 35 for the action platformer.
Motion Twin’s announcement states that Evil Empire will dedicate itself to new adventures and that the collaboration will end after more than five years.
Evil Empire is a studio founded by Motion Twin, which was responsible for the updates to Dead Cells.
But the end of the collaboration was perhaps not as amicable as the announcement suggested. Motion Twin co-founder Sébastien Benard, who left the studio in 2019, seems to know more about this, saying:
“Since you asked me, I would just say that [Motion Twin] the worst asshole action imaginable against Dead Cells and [Evil Empire] did,” he wrote.
“After seeing first-hand the actual situation behind the scenes, I can honestly say that I am glad to no longer be involved. The official statement is total marketing bullshit, the way this situation happened is on a whole other level.
“I never thought that my former co-op studio would turn out to be such greedy people. I wish [Evil Empire] the very best for their next thing and hope that the people who work there will survive this sudden economic downturn.”
