Google announced today (12) that it will invest 25 million euros in training and skills development initiatives for Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Europe.
Just last month, Google had already announced an investment of US$1 billion in the construction of a data center on the outskirts of London, to continue expanding to meet the growing demand for Internet services in the region.

During the announcement of new funding for Europe, Google opened applications for social enterprises and non-profit organizations that could and wanted to help implement actions that reach groups most likely to benefit from training.
Furthermore, the technology giant highlighted that it will manage a series of “growth academies”, training aimed at companies that use AI with the aim of helping to expand their businesses. Google has even expanded its free online AI training courses to 18 languages.
“Research shows that the benefits of AI can exacerbate existing inequalities – especially in terms of economic security and employment,” said Adrian Brown, executive director of the Center for Public Impact, responsible for managing the non-profit scheme together with Google.
According to Brown, this new program will help people across Europe develop their knowledge, skills and confidence around AI, “ensuring no one is left behind”.
