Net of the server-related issues, Helldivers 2 is having an incredible success especially on Steam, where it is the title published by Sony with the most activity during the launch period. To create such a product, however, the development team took quite a few years.
It was revealed Johan Pilestedtthe CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios who in a recent post on social media revealed that development of the third-person shooter has begun 7 years, 11 months and 26 days ago. This implies that work began almost immediately after the launch of the first chapter, the twin stick shooter that landed on PlayStation 4 back in 2015. The number one of the Swedish studio also revealed that Helldivers 2 is based on his films and books favorites, all seasoned with a hint of irony. The most interesting revelation, however, concerns the genesis of the project. In fact, it would seem that the title was born after Pilestedt played in the company of some of his friends at one mod the Serious Sam.
Between one statement and another, the Helldivers 2 team continues to work on the servers, in order to guarantee a smooth and problem-free gaming experience for the hundreds of thousands of users who try to access the multiplayer lobbies. The patch that arrived in recent days on PC and PS5 has improved the situation compared to launch, but there are still some problems to be resolved and which we hope will be fixed as soon as possible.
