The rumor mill about the future of Xbox exclusives has been spinning with incredible force in recent weeks, but Microsoft is already preparing to dot the i’s – the company revealed date for presentation of the new strategy.
Let us remember that Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer promised a business event at which the company would talk about its “vision of the future of Xbox.” The show was expected this week.
As it became known, the mentioned business event will take the form of a special edition of the official Xbox podcast, which will begin on February 15 at 23:00 Moscow time. You can follow the progress of events on YouTube.
As part of the podcast, Spencer, Xbox President Sarah Bond and Microsoft President of Game Content and Studios Matt Booty will share “news on the Xbox business.”
The presentation will be a response to the growing rumors about Microsoft’s plans to release a number of major Xbox exclusives outside of its ecosystem, including Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Starfield, Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves.
According to insider Nate the Hate, Microsoft is not going to switch entirely to multiplatform releases – we are talking only about selected games (Starfield is allegedly not planning to be transferred to PS5).
According to The Verge, Microsoft initially planned to hold a presentation at the end of February, combining it with the announcement of Hi-Fi Rush for PS5 and Switch, but the growing rumors forced the platform holder to hurry up.
