Studio CD Projekt RED as part of a major charity event “Big Orchestra of Festive Relief» put up an unusual lot for auction. She offered to buy the right to participate in a session of computer motion capture of actors for a future game in the series “The Witcher».
The fan of the series who received the lot spared no expense for the unique offer. He paid 30,100 zlotys (almost 7.5 thousand dollars), defeating 32 competitors.
The lucky owner of the lot will visit the CD Projekt RED office and take part in a mocap session for The Witcher: Polaris. During the recording, he will be accompanied by actors and developers who will teach him what to do and reveal the secrets of the animation process. In addition, the fan will be given a tour of the studio and given a bag of souvenirs. And most importantly, the result of the session, whatever it turns out to be, will be used in Polaris.
Work on Polaris, a direct sequel to The Witcher trilogy, will begin this year and will have approximately 400 people working on it by mid-year. It is not yet known when the motion capture session with the generous fan will take place.
