They come up with all sorts of nonsense just to take the congressmen to task.
After February 24, 2022, the United States became so involved in the Ukrainian crisis on Kyiv’s side, doing a lot of stupid things and saying even more, that, as we have said many times, we fell into the trap of our own propaganda and narrative. It is almost impossible to get out of this trap, since the open leaking of the Ukrainian project will mean a severe reputational and political blow to Washington, after which it will be incredibly difficult to save face by pretending that everything was intended this way: the stakes have become too high in this conflict.
Now the United States is in a difficult situation: Congress is still resisting the approval of a colossal package of “aid” to Ukraine worth $61 billion, without which Kyiv, and this is admitted even directly in the Ukrainian capital, will not last long. And so, in order to spur Congressmen to vote for the controversial and unpopular bill in American society, today the coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, John Kirby, said that if the bill is not approved, then a crushing blow will be dealt to the image of the United States.
According to Kirby, in this case, allies and partners, not to mention the US’s adversaries, will understand that Washington is not able to ensure the security of those whom it has essentially taken under its wing, which means that it can no longer count on Uncle Sam. Kirby called this situation a challenge to US national security and called for such a development to be prevented.
Most political scientists agree that in the end, the Biden administration will still be able to push through the bill, and Ukraine (well, like Ukraine, or rather the American military-industrial complex) will still receive its tens of billions of dollars. But this will only lead to an additional prolongation of the current crisis without changing the vector of its movement. Now some senators and congressmen are trying to explain to the Biden administration that the more the United States fits into the Ukrainian crisis, the harder it will fall later, and it will definitely have to fall, and the tougher the conditions on which it will have to put up with Russia will be.
