The co-op shooter Helldivers 2 has been officially available for a few days. The title also seems to be well received by players, not least due to the fair monetization mechanics. These are so well thought out because of the strong beliefs of Arrowhead’s company CEO.
For Helldivers 2 you have to pay around 40 euros on both PC and PlayStation 5. Of course, there are also some in-game purchases, for example you can get new armor and other cosmetic items for two to five euros in the shop. The Warbonds are more or less traditional battle passes and at ten euros they are at least not overly expensive.

But what’s particularly pleasant is that you can also find the super credits you need for purchases in Helldivers 2 in the game. For example, you have to find special boxes to get the currency. The studio wants to eliminate pay-to-win risks.
This fair approach definitely finds fans in the community. In times when other companies make no secret of their sheer greed and just want to milk the players, Helldivers 2 stands out pleasantly.
“You have to earn the right to monetize” – I truly believe that. If people want to support this title they have an option, but we are never forcing anyone to do so.

As the CEO of the development studio Arrowhead Games now explains, this is due to the company’s strong convictions. Johan Pilestedt on never force it.”
In Helldivers 2 you shoot tons of evil aliens off the screen. It’s no coincidence that the third-person co-op shooter is reminiscent of Starship Troopers, which is certainly not missing given the subject matter. If we look at the Steam numbers, the game seems to be doing pretty well at the moment.
