Hayao Miyazaki recently created a stunning promotional video for Studio Ghibli’s theme park in Japan, highlighting the company’s continued success following the global release of The Boy and the Heron last year.
The promotional film, showing Miyazaki’s vision of the park, was animated by Miyazaki himself along with two other talented animators. The team behind the video, which also includes Akihiko Yamashita and Noboru Yoshida, has previously worked on Howl’s Moving Castle.
The new area of the park, called “Valley of the Witches,” pays homage to classic Miyazaki films like “Kiki’s Delivery Service” and “Howl’s Moving Castle.” A special highlight of the new area is a full-scale replica of the iconic motorhome.
The grand opening of “Valley of the Witches” is scheduled for March 16, 2024, with a limited number of tickets available monthly beginning March 10.
