For now we are talking about a technology demo version.
Nvidia has released the Chat With RTX application – an artificial intelligence-based chatbot that runs directly on the user’s PC. The chatbot can work both with data from the Internet and with local files.
In addition to text, the chatbot can work with videos and documents. For example, a neural network can make an excerpt from a YouTube video, the link to which was provided by the user.
All processing, Nvidia emphasizes, occurs locally. User data is not transferred to the company’s servers, but Chat With RTX requires fairly powerful hardware to work.
To try out the chatbot, you will need 16 gigabytes of memory and a GeForce RTX 30/40 family video card with at least 8 gigabytes of memory on board. Chat With RTX is recommended to run on Windows 11.
Nvidia notes that users are offered a technology demo version of the chatbot. This means that Chat With RTX’s capabilities are limited, and the neural network itself may not work very well.
