She may take flight in the coming weeks.
SpaceX X/Twitter account demonstrated the third Starship rocket being prepared for assembly. Starship’s first and second stages are being moved to the launch pad, and assembly of the two stages should begin soon.
The third Starship rocket has been tested since the end of 2023. Perhaps the rocket will be sent into flight in the coming weeks: at the end of February or at the beginning of March.
SpaceX representatives say that Starship is technically ready to fly – the company is awaiting a launch license from the US Federal Aviation Administration. Such licenses are issued for each Starship launch.
Previous Starship launches have been partially successful. The first time the rocket was able to take off, its stages failed to separate; the second time separation occurred, but both stages exploded.
The Starship launch vehicle is planned to be used for launches as part of the Artemis lunar program. Now this is the most powerful launch vehicle being tested: Starship can launch up to 150 tons of cargo into low Earth orbit.
