For once Xbox fans are only waiting for one thing, it’s for their favorite brand to announce just one new controller…
X-Files: The Truth Revealed
Here is finally the end of a long wait for fans of the brand with the big “X”. After a (big) chaotic week where several journalists and insiders revealed a change of course for the Xbox brand, we will soon have the official response from Microsoft. Various rumors have been circulating on the web for many days now. Phil Spencer and his teams have decided to port several Xbox exclusives to PS5 and Switch. Informers who have often been right, such as Stephen Totilo or Tom Warren, have announced that we could see Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, Sea of Thieves and the future Indiana Jones on other consoles. Other rumors have swirled on the Internet and on specialized sites, mentioning the arrival of Starfield, Gears of War and even Halo on competing machines. With an obvious question that is driving debates all over the world: if the American giant fully embraces multiplatform, who will continue to buy Xboxes?
On February 10, journalist Shannon Liao revealed that the leaders of Microsoft’s games division had held an internal meeting to answer employees’ questions, only one day after the publication of the rumors that appeared on the Internet. According to the journalist, Phil Spencer told his teams that Xbox would not intend to stop making consoles and that the latter would continue to be part of the strategy which would involve several types of devices. As we explained yesterday, if the information is true, it would mean that Microsoft will continue to make consoles and peripherals. Does this refute the rumors of the coming of several exclusives on Nintendo and Sony machines? Always not. Fortunately, we should learn a lot more very soon.

Where and when to see the Xbox “business update”?
Phil Spencer promised it shortly after the rumors emerged on the Internet, on February 5. “We listen to you and we hear you. We have a business refresh event planned for next week, where we look forward to sharing more details with you about our vision for the future of Xbox.” Last night, the head of gaming at Xbox set the date and time of the meeting.

You will therefore have to tune in on Thursday, February 15 at 9 p.m. (Paris time) on the brand’s official YouTube channel to listen to what Phil Spencer, Sarah Bond and Matt Booty, the three big names in video games at Microsoft, will have to tell us during a special edition of the Xbox Podcast. On the Internet, there is (still) a lot of debate about the format of the show, but it should be remembered that the Redmond firm has made a habit of calling filmed exchanges “podcasts”. So we should definitely have video, even if it hasn’t been officially confirmed. The future of the brand as well as the group’s strategy will be discussed. Tick tock, the clock is ticking…
