Some applications and games require you to create an account, but getting rid of that account can be a problem. Fortunately, Google is making things a little easier. This way, security on Android is more guaranteed when you delete an application.
Play Store: you’ll be safer when you delete an app!
The February 2024 Google System Update includes a welcome addition to the Play Store (v39.7). More specifically, Google says that users can now more easily request the deletion of an account or data.
“You can now request the deletion of data and accounts from the application Details page, by clicking on a direct link to the Developer website”, reads an excerpt from the changelog.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about this change. Last year, Google informed developers that applications that support the creation of an account must allow users to delete that account and associated data through that application and the Web. At the time, the company published an example of this process.
Either way, this is a long-awaited addition, but still a notable improvement for privacy. But we hope more application developers will also offer an in-app solution if they haven’t already.
This is something that seems very simple but is actually more important than it seems. Many people, when they install an app that they don’t like or that they later consider suspicious, remove it from their smartphone and rest easy. The problem is that they may have created an account in the application itself that remains active and can even lead to extra costs.
It is for this reason that this button becomes very important. This ensures that in addition to removing the app, the creators will get rid of any of your data. In other words, it’s something that was really needed. Above all to make the forgetting process simpler.
