The cover of the Chinese version of Princess Peach Showtime shows the Unreal Engine logo on the back, for what appears to be a first confirmation of the engine adopted by Nintendo for the new Princess Peach game.
Although Nintendo never announced or confirmed it, Princess Peach Showtime It appears to be made with the Epic Games enginein reality this is not an absolute novelty since other Nintendo titles for Switch also used this engine, including Yoshi’s Crafted World and more recently Pikmin 4.
The Kyoto company usually gives priority to proprietary engines but there is no shortage of exceptionsfor example Super Mario RPG is made with Unity while as mentioned Pikmin 4 and Yoshi’s Crafted World exploit the Unreal Engine, as does Princess Peach Showtime apparently.
The Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom returns as the protagonist in a video game after many years, the last time we saw her in action “solo” was 2005 in Super Princess Peach per Nintendo DS. Princess Peach Showtime presents itself as a colorful and lively platform game, suitable for the whole family, guaranteed fun in full Nintendo style.
Princess Peach Showtime releases March 22, 2024 in physical and digital format, exclusively on Nintendo Switch family consoles.
