Mourning in the gaming world: he passed away at the age of 55 Yoshitaka Murayamaappreciated game designer known for being the birthplace of Suikoden ed Eiyuden Chronicle. The author passed away on February 6th due to complications from an illness he had been battling for some time.
Murayama began his career as a programmer for Konamibringing the original to life on the first PlayStation Suikoden and in 1998 following it Suikoden IIstill considered among the best JRPGs ever created for the first time PlayStation and beyond. The author then left Konami in 2002, shortly before the release of Suikoden III are PS2. Soon after he founded his own studio, Blue Moon, putting his signature on 10.000 Bullets.
In recent years the author had joined Rabbit and Bear Studios kicking off the project Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes, considered the spiritual successor to Suikoden. Eiyuden Chronicle Hundre Heroes is scheduled for April 23, 2024 and will therefore be the latest work by Murayama, who in the past was also among the writers of The Alliance Alive as well as having been involved in the development of Eiyuden Chronicle Rising as a supervisor.
Murayama’s works are destined to remain forever imprinted in the minds of fans, ready to relive them: Suikoden 1 & 2 HD Remaster is scheduled for release in 2024, ready to revive the two acclaimed works in the present day.
