The indie developer Active Fungus Studios announced that their debut game “A Bavarian Tale – Totgeschwiegen” now has a new name, which puts the unconventional investigative favorite detective Valentin Schmidt in the foreground: “Inspector Schmidt – A Bavarian Tale”.
The impetus for the name change is the second part of the crime series announced for this year. In “Inspector Schmidt – The Ebbing”, the aim is to solve a mysterious death on the North Sea, which is covered up by dark secrets. The soundtrack will of course be available in the finest Low German and in English.
With the overarching title “Inspector Schmidt”, “A Bavarian Tale” and “The Ebbing” are now under one term and pave the way for further game titles in the series.
Active Fungus Studios also announced that both games in the “Inspector Schmidt” series are moving to Unreal Engine 5 for an even better gaming experience. “Inspector Schmidt – A Bavarian Tale” is already available on Steam in the new UE5 version. Active Fungus Studios is also working on console ports, so Inspector Schmidt will soon be available on the XBox and PS5.
