Gaming PC for beginners: Well equipped for the future
It can also be a SATA SSD if you can get it a little cheaper. There’s no other place where you can really save on our PC, except maybe 10 to 20 euros on the case and power supply. For games, however, it definitely makes sense to use one of the more powerful graphics cards mentioned. The CPUs wouldn’t be too weak even for an RX 7700 XT or Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti.
Total cost: 570 euros
Alternative CPU: For just under 100 euros, the Core i3-1200F is a top budget CPU. Alternatives with 6 cores are the Core i5-12400F for 145 euros each or for AMD’s AM4 socket, which then requires a different mainboard, the Ryzen 5 5600X.
Alternative graphics card: The RX 6600 is at the lowest end of what is sufficient for modern games. Since prices are currently rising, you can also make a jump to the 15 percent faster RX 7600 starting at 275 euros or take the more energy-efficient but also 300 euro Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060.
Alternatives Mainboard: There are some options for the base 1700 for 75 to 90 euros. Pay attention to PCIe 4.0 and at least 1x M.2 (PCIe) like the MSI Pro H610M-E DDR4 for 80 euros. With the AMD AM4 socket – if you prefer a Ryzen CPU – this is even possible for a good 70 euros like with the ASRock B550M-HDV.
