Actor Matt Damon, during an interview with host Stephen Colbert, commented on information about the development of a new action film about Jason Bourne.
Damon did not deny or confirm that he himself will participate in the production of the new film, but highly praised the work of director Edward Berger, who is involved in the new product:
There is such a great director Edward Berger, who directed “All Quiet on the Western Front” [Netflix], a great movie. And Berger said that he has some idea for “Bourne” – I would love to work with him, he is currently creating the film. I, like you, hope that the result will be great and we can create a film.
In total, there are five films in the franchise about superspy Jason Bourne, the last of which was released in 2016. Damon played the main role in four of them, and in one of the films they tried to change the artist to Jeremy Renner – but the public accepted this decision without enthusiasm.
There are no additional details about the progress of production of the sixth film yet, it is likely that Berger will continue to work on the script for the new film for some time.
Paul Greengrass was responsible for the last part of the series, who directed the sequel and threequel of the franchise – the film grossed almost $416 million at the box office. Its budget was estimated at $120 million.
The first film “Borna Identification”directed by director Doug Liman, who recently announced a boycott of his latest film, the remake “Houses by the Road” with Jake Gyllenhaal.
