Actually, Sony didn’t exactly come up with any good news for the fan base recently. So it seems as if fans will have to wait at least until April 2025 to see new games from top brands like God of War or Spider-Man. Basically, the console is not lacking in new adventures.
A rumor is currently circulating in the media, according to which a well-known figure from the Playstation cosmos will appear again on the PS5 (buy now for €587.00) this year. An equally well-known insider started this story.
Next PS5 hit in 2024
A new Astro Bot game explicitly seems to be waiting for us. The little robot last appeared with Astro’s Playroom at the launch of the PS5 at the end of 2020. The playful journey through your own Playstation was well received when the console was released and, as Video Games Chronicle notes, is pre-installed on every PS5.
“I heard that Astro might be coming this year, so if that happens, that would be pretty big in my opinion,” said Jeff Grubb. The insider noted exactly this in the “Game Mess Mornings” podcast while generally analyzing Sony’s upcoming releases.
“I understand why Sony doesn’t think this would be big for us, or at least not yet, so we hope they do [Astro] can make it a big release and a lot will change,” were further statements from Grubb.

It remains to be seen when and how official information about the brand awaits us. There has been no confirmation from Sony regarding a new Astro game to date.
