According to information received by employees of the GRY-Online portal from a trusted source, the creators of Baldur’s Gate 3 are planning to open a Polish branch. The reports were also confirmed by a second, independent source.
It should be remembered that this is not yet confirmed information. Larian has not yet responded to requests for comment on these reports, and job postings on the developer’s official website make no mention of a new studio.
It would not be amiss to mention that this will not be the second or even the third branch of Larian Studios. And although for some it is still an independent company, the developers already have six studios, including four in Europe: in Barcelona, Dublin, Ghent and Guildford.
It is also necessary to recall the Polish contribution to the creation of the company’s latest hit. Thus, the Poles from Anshar Studios (Gamedec, Zoria: Age of Shattering) helped make the third Baldur’s Gate. Previously, together with Fool’s Theory (The Thaumaturge), they developed several free add-ons for Divinity: Original Sin 2, which were released in the form of so-called Gift Bags. That is, Polish developers are not strangers to Larian.
And although the portal’s editors are confident in the integrity of their independent sources, we can only say that these plans will actually be confirmed after an official statement is made from Larian itself.
