Peugeot recently announced the arrival of ChatGPT artificial intelligence in the i-Cockpit of its latest generation models. This addition placed the brand as one of the first in the automotive sector to make this commitment to improving the interaction between driver and vehicle. But how does this new feature work?
Thanks to the integration of ChatGPT, activated by the “Ok Peugeot” voice command, users can now enjoy personalized and interactive assistance. This system is capable of answering a wide range of questions, from suggesting tourist destinations to organizing entertainment activities for younger passengers during travel.
Generative artificial intelligence, developed by OpenAI, learns from vast amounts of data to provide accurate and sophisticated answers. The objective is to make the driving experience richer and more engaging.
Peugeot 208, 308 and E-3008 among the selected vehicles
The French brand has incorporated this technology into all its new models equipped with connected navigation, such as the popular 208, 308 and E-3008. Peugeot has launched a pilot phase offering free access to ChatGPT for six months. This initial offer is limited to 10,000 customers.
Owners of eligible Peugeot models can activate this service via the Peugeot Service Store. After this phase, Peugeot will take user feedback into account to roll out ChatGPT to all customers who own an eligible connected vehicle.
It should be noted that this new service “takes advantage of the power of generative artificial intelligence, including technologies from SoundHound’s Chat AI platform. Version 3.5 of ChatGPT uses information until January 2022, so it is not aware of events and information after that date.”
Portugal, for now, is left out of availability. At this stage, ChatGPT will be offered to Peugeot customers, in their language, in France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom.
