I Boreali is back – Nordic Festivalan Italian festival dedicated to Northern European culture: from 1 to 3 March 2024 at the Teatro Franco Parenti and the Cinemino in Milan, three days dedicated to meetings with writers, films in the original language with subtitles, music and concerts, workshops and Nordic brunches.
In this regard, we would like to point out the talk “let’s play at being Vikings: from God of War to Assassin’s Creed, the Norse myth conquers video games” scheduled for Saturday 2 March at 6.00 pm at the Café Rouge – Teatro Franco Parenti in Milan, with the participation of Giuseppe Arace and Alessandro Bruni.
Since the 1980s, Vikings and Nordic cultures have inspired video games and recently there has been a return of this phenomenon, with video games set in the cold lands of Northern Europe, such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla e God of War Ragnarok.
To the Borealans, Giuseppe Arace e Alessandro Bruni, editorial managers of the gaming section of Everyeye.it, explore the evocative declinations of this encounter between thousand-year-old sagas and technology. The advent of Fimbulwinter thus becomes the theater chosen by God of War Ragnarök to tell the story of the father-son relationship, the meticulous reconstruction of Viking culture transforms Assassin’s Creed Valhalla into a teaching tool, while the journey into Valheim of Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice turns into the ‘acclaimed portrayal of a mind afflicted by a severe form of psychosis.
For all the details on the talk we refer you to the event on Facebook while tickets are on sale online at the price of 3.50 euros.
