It’s possible the Switch successor will arrive in the first quarter.
According to Brazilian journalist Pedro Lippe, Nintendo has decided to delay the release of a new portable console. With reference to five Lippe sources assertsthat the Switch successor won’t arrive until early 2025 – likely before the end of the first quarter. Previously, it was assumed that the console would be released before the end of 2024.
Update
Eurogamer’s sources also claim that Nintendo’s new console will be delayed until the first quarter of 2025.
Lippe’s sources are developers working on games for the new Nintendo console. VGC journalists who spoke with their sources among the developers share similar information.
According to two of the publication’s interlocutors, their games, created for the new Nintendo console, will be released in early 2025. However, the developers do not know when the console itself will hit the market.
An interesting point: insider Tom Henderson made it clear back in 2023 that the new Nintendo console could be released in early 2025. According to Henderson, games for the new console will begin to be released frequently at this time.
It is assumed that the new Nintendo console will be built on an Nvidia chip and will be more expensive than the Switch. Nintendo representatives have never even announced an approximate release window for the next generation console.
