As we are tired of saying, Microsoft really has plans to bring some of its exclusive IPs to other platforms, more specifically Sony’s PlayStation 5, and of course, the current Nintendo Switch, as well as its successor that should be about to be announced .
The North American giant Microsoft has invested a lot of good money in the Xbox video game department. However, consoles are not sold… It is necessary to monetize in other ways.
Microsoft will bring exclusives to PS5. But take it easy!
Therefore, as promised, Phil Spencer decided to clarify a little everything that has reached the Internet in recent days. For this, a kind of podcast-style livestream was made, where we saw the “boss” of the Xbox project speaking, and of course, explaining his vision.
First of all, Phil Spencer confirmed that Microsoft will release 4 exclusive games for Sony and Nintendo consoles. We are therefore talking about Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment in the first phase, with Sea of Thieves and Grounded in a second wave. In other words, they won’t be games that define the Xbox world, as is the case with Halo, Gears of War, Starfield, etc… It’s a kind of test to see how things go.
It is, in essence, a strategy very similar to that of Sony, when the Japanese giant’s exclusives began to find their way to the PC. After all, it was Phil Spencer who also said that exclusives are losing much of their importance in the current market, and as such, Microsoft will not stick to old ideas.
First of all, what do you think about all this? Do you think it’s a good idea? Are exclusives really losing value? Will the world of consoles change forever? Share your opinion with us in the comments box below.
