In a new press release, Remedy said that Control 2 and the remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2 will enter the next stage of development in the first half of 2024, with the pace of development on both projects accelerating.
Here’s what Tero Virtala, CEO of Remedy, said about this:
The successful launch of Alan Wake 2 has supported our other game projects: Thanks to the staff freed up after the release of Alan Wake 2, Condor, Control 2 and the Max Payne 1&2 remake have increased their development pace, and we expect these projects to enter the next stages of development in the first half of 2024. We now have two established franchises: Control and Alan Wake, which are connected by the Remedy Connected Universe. The development and expansion of these franchises will be a key part of our future.
Back in October last year, Remedy confirmed that Control 2 was still in the “proof-of-concept” stage, meaning the development process had progressed considerably since then. At the same time, the studio announced that the remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2 have moved to the “production readiness” stage.
Despite the fact that nothing is known yet about the release date of Control 2 and the remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2, in 2022 Remedy claimed that they would be released presumably by 2025.
