TCL has released TCL Nxtwear S Plus smart AR glasses, which are the successor to the TCL Nxtwear S model, released more than a year ago. By connecting the new product to a smartphone or laptop via the USB-C port, the user will be able to watch a movie or video clips on a large virtual screen.
TCL Nxtwear S Plus is equipped with a pair of Micro OLED displays manufactured by Sony with support for Full HD resolution (1920 × 1080 pixels) and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz when viewing 2D images and a resolution of 3840 × 1080 pixels for viewing 3D content. Switching between 120Hz and 60Hz refresh rates is done with one click. The displays provide 100% coverage of the sRGB color space and 8-bit color depth.
The brightness of the new display is 600 cd/m2, which is 200 units more than the TCL Nxtwear S model and a hundred more than the Xreal Air 2 Pro. Contrast is 100,000:1, field of view is 49°. It also reports TÜV Rheinland, Low Blue Light, Flicker Free & Eye Comfort certifications, confirming minimal emission of blue light that is harmful to the eyes, as well as no glare or flicker.
Unlike the TCL Nxtwear S, the new product provides the equivalent of a larger screen with a diagonal of 215 inches at a distance of 6 m or 146 inches at a distance of 4 m. The predecessor has a virtual screen diagonal of 140 inches.
The smart glasses are equipped with two speakers and are compatible with iOS and Android devices. The weight of the gadget is 87 g.
The price of TCL Nxtwear S Plus smart glasses is $399.
