On February 15, Microsoft officially announced that it plans to release some of its games on competitor consoles. The announcement did not name a specific list of projects, but the Xbox team noted that there are 4 such games, and these are 2 small projects, plus 2 actively developing games. According to insider Tom Warren, we are talking about Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, Pentiment and Sea of Thieves.
Tom Warren also expressed his point of view, based on information from informants, about what plans Xbox has for releasing games in the future on Playstation and Nintendo consoles:
I understand that Microsoft has previously toyed with the idea of bringing Gears of War, Microsoft Flight Simulator, and even the next Doom title to competing platforms. For the rest [кроме уже 4 заявленных] games, no final decisions have been made yet, but there will certainly be more than 4. As this strategy progresses, it is clear that some interesting decisions will be made regarding the future of Xbox games and their exclusivity.
According to Warren, Microsoft’s current Xbox policy is “Xbox Everywhere.” [Xbox повсюду].
