Still intoxicated by the success of Alan Wake 2, which with 1.3 million copies in just a few months became the fastest-selling Remedy game in history, the guys from the Finnish studio are now free to focus on the other projects in the pipeline. We are talking specifically about Project Condor, Max Payne 1&2 Remake and Control 2.
As part of the latest release sent to investors, Remedy Entertainment announced that it has accelerated development of Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake, Control 2 and Condora change of pace made possible also and above all by the excellent commercial response of Alan Wake 2. In this regard, CEO Tero Virtala declared: “The success of Alan Wake 2 has supported our other projects; Condor, Control 2 and Max Payne 1&2 Remake have all seen an increase in the speed of development thanks to the staff that was freed up after the debut of Alan Wake 2.”
In light of this, Virtala expects all three games to enter their respective games subsequent stages of processing by the first half of 2024. “We now have two established franchises, Control and Alan Wake, which are connected to each other through the Remedy Connected Universe. The growth and expansion of these franchises will be a major part of our future.”
Unfortunately, Remedy’s CEO didn’t provide any details on the release timing, so we don’t know which of those three titles we’ll be able to play first. We started hearing about Project Condor, a cooperative multiplayer spin-off of Control, in 2021, while Max Payne 1&2 Remake was announced in May 2022 in collaboration with Rockstar. The first mention of Control 2 dates back to November 2022. Is this also the order of publication of the three games?
