A few weeks ago, we gave Xiaomi a lot of praise for launching the range of devices Redmi Note 13where we could and still can find a lot of quality in all the models launched by the Chinese giant, with devices that start at ~€250 and go up to €550.
We’re talking about well-designed designs, borderless screens, good cameras, and almost always good memory and internal storage configurations. However, after Xiaomi’s good effort, we have another extremely irreverent manufacturer ready to add a spoon to this ever so popular soup.
After all, everything indicates that the base model of the Nothing Phone (2a) will have technical specifications very similar to what we can find on the Redmi Note 13 Pro+however, costing €200 less.
Mid-range smartphone at €349!? It can change the market!
Phone (2a) – The final design will be this!
Therefore, as you may know, the Nothing Phone (2a), despite being confirmed, has not yet been officially announced and launched in the Android world. This should happen at MWC 2024, or a few days after the biggest mobile fair on earth.
However, as is increasingly normal in the world of technology, major launches are no longer able to keep many of their secrets.
This is exactly why we already know that the Nothing Phone (2a) will have the same exact OLED screen that gives life to the Phone (2), it will have at least 8GB of RAM in the base version, it will have an irreverent design and apparently a little different compared to the Phone (1) and (2), however, with the continuation of the Glyphs lighting system.
Interestingly, the SoC that will give it life is most likely the same SoC that serves as the basis for Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 13 Pro+! Which should mean performance extremely similar to that of a high-end device, which nowadays should mean €550 or more.
In short, an extremely interesting device to cost “only” €349, or even the potential €399 or €419 that a hypothetical version with 12GB of RAM and a little more internal storage space could cost. It is, in my opinion, a gigantic all-in from Nothing in the mid-range, and a real kick in the shins from Xiaomi.
Do you think Nothing has what it takes to “upset” Xiaomi? Will it be a success? Share your opinion with us in the comments box below.
