Please wait – that’s what it seems like, if you can believe the latest round of rumors that various reputable media outlets, including Bloomberg, have been reporting since yesterday.
Accordingly, Nintendo has informed publishers behind the scenes that the new console – whether it will be called Switch 2 or not – will only be released in the early months of 2025 and not during this year’s Christmas season.
As is well known, the Mario Group has not yet commented on the topic and it remains to be seen when the first official information will actually be available. Such a date certainly doesn’t seem unthinkable, after all, the Switch was released in March 2017.
Meanwhile, the next Nintendo Direct, which was generally expected last week or so, is likely to be much closer. Now it seems to be coming next week, like the leaker who has been almost consistently right about Nintendo Pyoro indicates.
This is supposed to be a presentation with a focus on partner titles, which was probably postponed at short notice because of what was happening at Microsoft – so it’s quite possible that we’ll get more detailed information in a few days about when which Xbox games will be available Land Switch.
