With every year, the options that board manufacturers provide in their UEFIs change. New functions come, older ones go or are simply renamed. Depending on the motherboard price range, we encounter more or less opportunities to turn everything upside down. So that everyone can prepare and navigate safely in UEFI, we want to explain the menus of the most popular brands in a four-part series – completely. Mostly manufacturer specific
Within a motherboard generation, the UEFIs from a board manufacturer are usually visually very similar and also have fundamentally the same functions. Although simply installing a different CPU can cause a few options to disappear or appear, for example for additional cores or an IGP that is not always available, overall a lot of things are adopted 1:1 for other boards within a platform and even across platforms.
