Things aren’t going well for Palworld – the video game – at the moment. After the survival role-playing game scored extremely high player numbers at launch, many users are now turning to other things. In addition, the developers seem overwhelmed by the flood of users and are desperately looking for new employees. But that doesn’t stop the general hype train surrounding the title. On the contrary: Many people now want to jump on the bandwagon and are offering cheap copies online in the form of costumes.
Palworld is becoming more and more like Pokémon
Even if the games differ fundamentally in terms of gameplay, a comparison between Palworld and Pokémon is obvious. After all, in both games you have to collect monsters, some of which look extremely similar. But Pokémon is much more than just the video games, Pokémon is a franchise that comes in countless forms. Palworld is now also taking its first step outside the games industry. Unfortunately not in the form of a trading card game or a television series.

Palworld | OPINION | Where does inspiration end?
Many cheap shops like AliExpress offer Palworld costumes (not licensed by Pocketpair) that can be worn not only at Carnival, but especially at Halloween. Anyone who looks into the masks’ eyes for too long will definitely have nightmares tonight. Coshd even has Trainer Zoe’s outfit as well as a Grizzbolt hat that only the most daring fashionistas will wear in public. It should be noted at this point that ordering from such shops involves certain risks.

Even if they are blatantly pirated copies, it seems only a matter of time before there is official merch for Palworld. The developers are already showing on Twitter/X how it can be done better. However, there is still a long way to go to really become a ubiquitous franchise like Pokémon.
