Next Tuesday, February 20th, the open-world crafting game Nightingale will enter early access and can be purchased via Steam or the Epic Games Store. Meanwhile, Wccftech conducted an exclusive interview with Aaryn Flynn, the founder and CEO of Inflexion Games, who is also a former Bioware developer and general manager.
Inflexion CEO: Survival boom offers exciting opportunities
During the interview, Flynn was asked if he was worried about launching a game in the same genre (namely the survival crafting genre) that has already seen great success in the last month with titles like Palworld and Enshrouded. Is there actually too much survival currently?
Rather, Aaryn Flynn is excited about the genre’s huge popularity: “I think it’s an exciting opportunity. What we’re seeing at the moment is not a proliferation of the same ideas being recycled ad nauseam, but rather these very different and unique perspectives Genres developed by incredibly talented teams.” Regarding the current competition, he states: “Palworld has its own take on the genre and so does Enshrouded, and we have seen that both are very successful and stand out from the others with their vision of what the genre can offer players.”

Nightingale | PREVIEW | A magical fairytale world awaits
Of course, he also has words to say about his own Nightingale project: “We hope that players recognize our perspective and the uniqueness of our approach, especially with our realm card system and the extensive design possibilities, while we apply the possibilities that the genre offers to our own our own Gaslampian, Nightingale style. We said internally, ‘The survival genre is on the rise,’ and that’s great for everyone.”
