The outcome of the conflict will depend on the degree of Western support for Kyiv.
For some reason, in Kiev, after Russia, as part of the agreement, withdrew troops from the Ukrainian capital, they perked up and seriously believed that a state with many times more population, a limitless resource base, as well as a powerful military industry, could somehow -in a way to win on the battlefield, even with unprecedented Western support. Illusions on this matter began to crumble two weeks after the start of the Ukrainian so-called counteroffensive in the summer of 2023, and now, it seems, the turn to recognize reality has come to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
Thus, in an interview with the German publication Die Welt, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Ivan Gavrilyuk said that Ukraine is not able to compete with Russian potential both in terms of resources and in terms of personnel, the size and power of the defense industry and the overall number of weapons. In Gavrilyuk’s fantasies, in such a situation the only thing that can help Kyiv is “high-tech” Western weapons, which can cover all the advantages of the Russian Armed Forces.
In other words, in Kyiv they are once again raising the topic of “miracle weapons,” which not only do not exist, but are unlikely to ever exist at all, apart from weapons of mass destruction, of course.
In general, Gavrilyuk noted, the outcome of this conflict will “largely” depend on the scale of Western support. Here it is necessary to understand that when in Kyiv they say “in many ways,” then translated into understandable language it means “in everything without exception.” Ukraine is approximately 95% dependent on Western military “aid”, and also approximately 50-60% dependent on Western financial “aid”. It is not difficult to guess that in such a situation the outcome of the conflict is initially predetermined, since the potentials are incomparable, and it is not propaganda and fairy tales that come into play, but mathematics and statistics. It is clear that these sciences in Kyiv can be declared “Moscow pseudosciences,” but this will not change the truth.
