We’re just a few days away from the release of Pacific Drive. The game published by Kepler Interactive and developed by Ironwwod Studios is expected on PC and PlayStation 5 starting from February 22, 2024. The game director wanted to talk about the PlayStation 5 edition Alexander Dracott from the pages of the PlayStation Blog, so as to illustrate the unique features of the game on the Sony console.
DualSense is the strong point of Pacific Drive on PlayStation 5
Although the interview is not limited to this single aspect of Pacific Drive, Dracott still wanted to say a few words. According to the game director, in fact, the haptic feedback of the pad is able to actually provide unique sensations on the state of the car. Driving on slippery terrain with punctured tires gives, pad in hand, sensations that are completely opposite to those of traveling on asphalt with tires in good condition.
From this point, it is then possible to summarize other aspects of the interview on the PlayStation Blog. Dracott, for example, states that Ironwood Studios’ intent was to differentiate itself from a driving simulator thanks to feedback. If – to name a few – Polyphony Digital strives to make dozens of cars unique and recognisable, Ironwood has studied to make the various possible configurations unique for the single car present in the game. “What sense does it make that the car responds in the same way for two players who have customized it differently” asks Dracott, rhetorically.
We can describe Pacific Drive as a survival/roguelite with a strong management component. It will be available on PC and PS5 on February 22nd.
