Want a £2 bag with your game?
The VGC site discovered some unusual information while surfing Reddit. Several users of the social network revealed that Asda stores, a well-known mass distribution chain across the Channel, were selling the game Immortals Of Aveum not at £30, nor at £10, but at… £1. Which makes the price below €1.20 with us. You do not believe in it ? A photo is circulating on the Web. Do you think it’s fake or a simple display error? No way. As we have just checked, the game was indeed offered at this price in the Asda online store. Before you rush, be aware that the item is out of stock.
VGC reminds us that Asda has the habit of significantly reducing the price of games in order to sell off stocks as quickly as possible. Immortals Of Aveum could also be found for less than £5 before Christmas. It still remains quite rare to see a video game sold off like this so soon after its launch.

“A truly horrible idea”
The Electronic Arts game, released in August 2023, arrived during a year busy with major releases. With Starfield, Baldur’s Gate III, Diablo IV, or even The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, it is obviously difficult to make yourself known when you are a new license. According to the developers, it was even a very bad time to release their spell-based FPS, which did not have the expected success. “The development cost was around $85 million, and I think EA added $40 million for marketing and distribution. Sure, the development team was very talented, but trying to make a AAA single-player shooter in today’s market was a truly horrible idea,” admitted Bret Robbins, Game Director of the game, to IGN.
