As I have said several times in Leak.ptXiaomi has always had the big problem of giving priority to the Chinese market, instead of trying to bet on global launches. However, being realistic and honest, it is something that makes perfect sense for the Chinese giant.
After all, compared to Samsung and Apple, Xiaomi is still an extremely young manufacturer, and therefore still unable to get its hands on product supply chains that are as good, or as capable, compared to its rivals.
Furthermore, we cannot forget the size of the Chinese market… We are talking about double the inhabitants of Europe! Yes, China has around 1.4 billion inhabitants, while all the countries on the European Continent are around 746 million, where around 11 million are in Portugal.
These are very different scales, which end up justifying Xiaomi’s big bet on its “home” market.
However, if Xiaomi wants to be a truly global brand, it obviously has to try to launch globally. This is exactly why the Xiaomi 14 Ultra now hits the market to change the paradigm.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra is coming. Will it change the market!?
Therefore, it seems that Xiaomi will take advantage of MWC 2024 to launch its new top of the range on a global scale, leaving the Xiaomi 14 Pro behind. (Yes, the Xiaomi 14 Pro will not arrive in Portugal)
A smart decision, given that with an Ultra on the market, no one will care about the Pro version of Xiaomi’s top-of-the-range device. In reality, it’s something a little similar to what happens with Samsung’s S24+. It’s cool… It’s interesting… But it’s not an Ultra!
Yes, in case you haven’t noticed yet, although it hasn’t been confirmed yet, everything indicates that Xiaomi will announce the Xiaomi 14 Ultra for its home market on February 22nd, and shortly thereafter, on February 25th, it will announce the same device for the Global market, thus taking advantage of MWC 2024 which should be taking place at the same time in Barcelona.
It will be the first time in a long time that Xiaomi will be able to compete on equal terms with its direct rivals. Confirming again an extremely interesting year 2024 for the Chinese giant.
Now it remains to be seen what price Xiaomi will choose for its new top of the range! Needless to say, anything around €1250 is going to be just incredible.
