Developers from Bethesda Game Studios reported that update 1.9.67 for the space role-playing game Starfield, after almost two weeks of testing, has moved from “beta” status to a full release.
The main feature of patch 1.9.67 is two new intelligent image scaling technologies for the game – third generation AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) and Intel Xe Super Sampling (XeSS).
Being an exclusive partner of AMD, the PC version of Starfield came with built-in support for AMD FSR (but only the second generation), while NVIDIA DLSS was added to the game later (but immediately the latest version).
In addition to new scaling technologies, the patch contains changes to FormIDs (a parameter for objects in the game), which should improve the stability of saves with a large number of visited locations.
The developers also fixed “vibrating” clouds, reset resolution scaling when switching from full-screen to windowed mode while using DLSS, and made a number of minor improvements.
With the release from beta, update 1.9.67 became available on all other Starfield target platforms outside of Steam – Microsoft Store, Xbox Series X, S. Support for FSR 3 and XeSS is not implemented on consoles.
Throughout 2024, Starfield plans to add city maps, new methods of movement, and support for modifications. The developers promised to release patches every six weeks.
