The informant AssembleDebug disclosed a new feature on the Play Store in X. With it, Google would be testing using artificial intelligence to summarize the functionalities of an application present in the online store catalogue, listing its highlights.
So far, the feature appears to still be in the testing phase and only available to a limited number of users selected by Google, and it is not yet known when it will be made available to everyone, nor whether it will be limited to specific devices.
Google Play Store testing AI based App Highlights features
This new addition – App Highlights using AI provides users the highlights of the app on the details page. This is similar to the AI based FAQ’s feature which I shared about back in January.#Google #Ai #Android pic.twitter.com/77RuyT41Mi

This rumor follows on from one released in January, when Google tested the use of AI to automatically generate Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for applications on the Play Store. Thus, users could question the reasons, most popular aspects and benefits for downloading the app on their device.
It is worth remembering that AI resources are not restricted to the Play Store. Among other initiatives, in late 2023 Google implemented AI in Android Auto to summarize text messages received while driving. Last week, the company also announced that it will monitor global methane gas emissions combining AI with satellite data, mapping fossil fuel infrastructure and potential leaks.
