Nokia has announced Telco GenAI, a generative AI-powered telecom assistant that will be integrated with NetGuard Cybersecurity Dome, a cloud-based SaaS network security solution, to enable communications service providers (CSPs) and enterprises to detect and resolve issues faster and better in their environments. , with cybercriminals increasingly using generative AI for more sophisticated attacks on critical infrastructure.
NetGuard Cybersecurity Dome is Nokia's XDR platform that protects networks using AI and machine learning. Nokia Telco GenAI will be integrated into the platform in the second quarter. It will further expand the capabilities of Cybersecurity Dome by quickly integrating and interpreting huge amounts of information related to cyber threats, thereby increasing the efficiency of Cybersecurity Dome in identifying and eliminating them.
Nokia Telco GenAI uses Microsoft Azure OpenAI to run large language models (LLMs) that have been trained on 5G network architecture, security practices and Nokia's telecom expertise. The comprehensive training covered various categories of information including 3GPP and NIST specifications, 5G topology covering RAN, transport and core, as well as MITER ATT&CK and FiGHT (Hierarchy of Threats).
Nokia estimates that Telco GenAI will nearly double the speed of identifying and remediating threats. It is also expected to significantly reduce false positives and more effectively and efficiently identify and handle cybersecurity incidents. Integrating NetGuard Cybersecurity Dome with the new generative AI assistant will provide communications service providers and enterprises with significantly greater flexibility in mitigating the impact of disruptive attacks, according to Nokia's senior vice president.
