As the developers at Remedy Entertainment confirmed, “Alan Wake 2” will indeed have a photo mode. However, the feature that has been repeatedly requested by the community has not yet been given a concrete date.
After the release of “Alan Wake 2” last October, Remedy Entertainment provided the horror adventure with various features that were requested by the players.
Including a New Game Plus mode or the option to play selected chapters again. Another feature that the community has repeatedly advocated for in recent months is a photo mode. Remedy Entertainment pointed out via the official X channel that the developers are indeed working on a photo mode for “Alan Wake 2”.
Unfortunately, the studio did not give a specific date when making the announcement. Instead, there is only talk of a planned release in spring 2024. “Thank you for all the stunning screenshots from the Pacific Northwest and Dark Place,” said Remedy Entertainment.
“You'll be able to take even more creative photos in Alan Wake 2 when Photo Mode is released as a free update sometime this spring.”
The fastest-selling title in studio history
A few days ago, those responsible at Remedy Entertainment gave us the first figures for “Alan Wake 2”. As the Finnish studio revealed, 1.3 million units were sold between the launch at the end of October and the beginning of February. This made “Alan Wake 2” the fastest-selling Remedy title ever.
Remedy CEO Tero Virtala also stated that his studio has long-term plans for “Alan Wake 2” and would like to continue to support and promote the horror title in the coming months.
“We are pleased with the start of sales of Alan Wake 2. The price level also remains high, and the game has already recouped a significant portion of the development and marketing costs,” Virtala continued.
“Alan Wake 2” is available for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. With a metascore of 89 points The survival horror adventure became one of the best titles of the last few months. Remedy Entertainment received criticism with its decision to rely on a purely digital release for “Alan Wake 2”.
According to the studio, a retail version was not provided for cost reasons. Even the fact that the community has been regularly campaigning for a physical version of “Alan Wake 2” since this announcement has not yet been able to persuade those responsible to change their minds.
